We specialise in swimming lessons only and supply semi-private swimming lessons with only three children per class, ensuring each child receives more one-on-one attention with their teacher. And by having a maximum of just two classes in the pool per time slot, we reduce distractions and noise, making for a more focused lesson time.

Our friendly and highly experienced managers Belinda and Rachelle, along with our swimming teachers are all committed to making you and your child's learn-to-swim experience the best one possible.

The pool is heated to 32 degrees Celsius year-round, change rooms and toilets are located pool-side. Parents can choose to view a lesson in air-conditioned comfort, or go poolside whilst siblings can play in our large well equipped secure play area.

All our instructors are Industry qualified (e.g. AUSTSWIM, ASCTA, and Blue Card holders. Shapland Swim Schools Gold Coast is a Swim Australia registered facility.

This facility is a purpose Learn-to-Swim pool with 8 different depth levels to accommodate the student from beginner to advanced swimmer. The pool design incorporates over seven decades of experience in teaching children to swim, as well as optimal building and poolside facilities.

Located in Gaven, not far from Westfield Helensvale the school is very central and easily accessed being just off the M1.

Cost & Enrolment Info

Only 3 children to a class

The Shapland Swim School at Gaven, like all Shapland Swim Schools, runs a seamless learn to swim program so you never have to rebook your spot.

A deposit of $89.20 is charged for each family. We require one month's notice when finishing the program, and this deposit will be used against your final month of lessons.

Package One
One lesson a week $22.30 weekdays or $23.30 per lesson Saturdays paid by the calendar Months.

Package Two
Two lessons a week $36.35 weekdays for the same child , price may differ if one of these lessons is on Saturdays.


Payment

You can pay by internet transfer or by using your credit card. Once you have enrolled in the swim school program, you will receive detailed instruction on how the payment and invoicing system works.

MySSS

Log into MySSS to take control of your lessons. Features include cancelling a lesson if you are going to be away or booking a makeup lesson when you are ready to have one. You can also pay your account, book a sibling in for classes and look for a new time for your child if you want to swap days.

General Info

Free make up system

If you cancel a lesson before 8am, you are entitled to a free makeup lesson. To cancel a lesson, you can log into MySSS and cancel.

To book a makeup lesson, we have found that the best way to schedule that class is via MySSS.

Over the years we have found that once you break your child's swimming lesson routine (come at a different day and time for a makeup lesson) it is very easy to forget the makeup swimming lessons time and day. It is swim school policy not to give out make up lessons more that one day in advance.

Heated pool

A water temperature of 32 degrees Celsius (all year round) is crucial for your child's comfort. Normally children have a low percentage body fat and if the water is below 32 degrees Celsius then they start to feel the cold. Any parents who are in the water with their child will understand how important it is to feel comfortable in that environment.
